Books Of A Cook

I unknowingly pulled this book from the shelf this morning while having biceps curl using this pair of 4lb dumbbells (of course, I put one down to get the book =)) I re-read some of my favorite parts during my free times the whole day and really wished to watch the movie adaptation that is showing this October in theater near our place =) Good luck to DVD copy =)

My online table with my forever favorite book--Simple Abundance (acquired almost a year ago, the other one was ruined by Ondoy, so as the EAT, PRAY, LOVE, sigh =))

Hurrah, lunch time!
I pig out on pork belly sinigang.  This rarely happens (but who care if this happens everyday =))

Angel's class' Cook-For-A-Book
This is her print ad =)

Dinner time!

I fried Angel's take home (Fish Balls and Kikiam) from their class' trip to Navotas Fish Port

My not-so favorite (but kids' much-loved) Patola with Misua

Respire

Last Sunday, we had a chance to breathe under these trees and perspire as well under the burning sun (at the La Mesa Ecopark).

Whew! Tired of carrying heavy loads coz this yoke isn’t easy. Trying to look like the burden is light =)

Inhale...Exhale...a-u-mmm :)

Sigh...

It’s been a year since the distressing typhoon Ondoy happened.  It’s so sad to remember such fearful and tearful incident but we have to acknowledge the fact that it made us stronger.  With the teething troubles that we had encountered in that experience, what lingers most now are the people who lend a helping hand for us to carry on.  To all of you (they know who they are)…we are still in need of house and lot and SUV =) Seriously, a heartfelt thanks to all of you.  May the best of happiness, honor, and fortunes keep with you all!

Shots taken the day after...
A view from our neighbor’s house where I, my 2 kids and other families stayed along with 9 dogs :)
Double sigh...=)
Can't keep awake.  Have a blessed Sunday!

Got Involved

I haven’t done any accessories yesterday and today coz I’ve been preoccupied making these sweet treats for my daughter’s prize contribution for their school’s annual Book Month and Cultural Diversity celebration.

Chocolate Lollipops

I’ve been making chocolate lollipops years ago for my children’s birthday parties and during Christmas season when I got some orders.  This simple design costs 8 pesos each. Anyone interested, just email me =)

Meanwhile, Joie sold lots of his class’ goods for their Cook-For-A-Book activity this morning.  Proceeds of this activity will be used to purchase additional books for their library as well as for their school’s center-based and home-based children’s program in Tarlac, Zambales, and Palawan.  Hmmm...a philathropist in a making =)

Joie patiently waits for customers
Teacher Pam assisted Joie when somebody bought 3 packs then paid using split bill =)
Change for how much? =)
